Romans 8:28 KJV “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

When God calls, He causes all things to work together for your good in accordance with purpose. He goes before you to make ways where there are no ways. He doesn’t call to abandon you, but ensures that all your needs are supplied according to His riches in glory.

Here, two sets of people are discussed;

1. Those who love God, and

2. Those that are THE CALLED according to PURPOSE.

When God calls, He calls you out of His love and expects that you also respond back to Him in love. “We love him, because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19. There is something that all men crave for much more than every other thing. It’s love. Humans want to be loved and also to love. The ability to love confirms life and the ability to be loved sustains life.

God also loves us, and that’s why He gave His only Begotten Son to the world, such that if we believe and receive Him, we would not perish rather we would have an everlasting life. Love produces life. And in accepting His love, He also empowers us to love Him in return.

How then are we to love Him?

Jesus describes to us how we are expected to love God in response to His unconditional, unending love He has for you and I. And thou shall love the Lord thy God with

1. …all thine heart,

2. …with all thy soul, and

3. …with all thy might(mind). Matt. 22:37.

If therefore you can respond back to God in love, He qualifies you to be called for a purpose. There is an assignment in the mind of God for all He calls. To Peter and his friends, He said, “follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” He didn’t just call them into a vacuum, neither did He call them into lack of purpose. There is a purpose in the mind of God when He calls. And in as much as you seek daily to fulfil His purposes for your life, all things will work together for your good.

He is not a God that abandons His people. For the Israelites, though they murmured and complained, He still provide all they needed to survive in the wilderness. When Jesus sent out His disciples for evangelism, He instructed them not to carry anything along with them and when they came back, He asked them if they lacked anything. They said no because all there needs were fully met.

With the vision comes a provision. With the purpose comes a supply. When God calls, do not let fear take over your mind. With the call is all that you need to survive. For I know of a certainty, that the Lord that called those things that be not as though they were will for sure provide all that you need to fulfil His call. So rest in the Lord and heed yourself to the call. When God calls, all things are provided. God bless you.
