Our lives as believers should be shaped after the word of God, no matter the principles that guides our lives and the philosophy that we use and has been working for us, it does not matter, what should always move us to work is the word of God. Our lives must be built and surrounded by the word of God. We have the life of people in scriptures, who like Abraham whenever, he heard from the Lord he is always moved to work even when the Lord says to offer his only child, he did immediately. That’s the common word for doers of the word of God.

Genesis  22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

22:3 AND ABRAHAM ROSE UP EARLY IN THE MORNING, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

He never waited, he moved to work immediately.

“A man that is walking with God, is not just a man that hears God, is a man that is always moved by the word of God to do it.”

And we found him doing what the Lord says.

Genesis  22:9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and ABRAHAM BUILT AN ALTAR THERE, AND LAID THE WOOD IN ORDER, AND BOUND ISAAC HIS SON, AND LAID HIM ON THE ALTAR UPON THE WOOD.

22:10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

This man is moved by the word, his only son! That he has been waiting for, for years! He didn’t moved by His emotions or sight but by the word of God. We see what happened after

Genesis  22:11 AND THE ANGEL OF THE LORD CALLED UNTO HIM OUT OF HEAVEN, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

22:12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

The angels could not have stopped him, if they have not heard from God.

Psalms  103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, THAT DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, HEARKENING UNTO THE VOICE OF HIS WORD.

If the angels do what the Lord says we should also.

He was spoken of again in the New Testament.

Hebrews  11:8 By faith Abraham, WHEN HE WAS CALLED to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, OBEYED; AND HE WENT OUT, NOT KNOWING WHITHER HE WENT.

We also knew of a man Noah, who when he had from the Lord he was moved with fear to do what the Lord says to do.

Hebrews  11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, MOVED WITH FEAR, PREPARED AN ARK to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

This men always obey the Lord and also are been moved by the word of God. The thing is, does the word of God moves you? Not in sharing but in obeying?

“Anything that moves a man, will always move(put him to work) the man.”

What moves you? We must become so flexible with the word of God. Our lives must be found and be surrounded by the word of God.

Jesus was a man, who is mother knew secretly and she made us to realise that we should never joke with whatever He tell us to do. I’m sure, the mother would have been studying Jesus at home.
When they were out of wine at the marriage of Cana, where they invited Jesus and his disciples and the Mother. See what the mother said.

John  2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, WHATSOEVER HE SAITH UNTO YOU, DO IT.

We saw the people doing what Jesus said to do, but do you realize that Jesus didn’t touched the water pots? He just gave an instruction and the people followed it step by step and then the result came out.

John  2:6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

2:7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

2:8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

The instructions look so funny, but they just followed. It is something that a normal person will do in his home to just bring fill a water pot and also bring out the water. It’s just normal. But when we Obey the instructions of the Lord that looks so abnormal to us by just doing it, we will reap what has never been experienced before. So just do it!

Whatsoever! It does not matter what He said, what you need to do is just do it! It may look foolish but it is whatsoever He said that you must do. It may look foolish to you, but listen, the mother said, whatsoever He said to you do it. She knew the effect of obeying Jesus word, and we knew what happened after, there was supply. God has a supply for you, but you just have to do what He tell you to do. We live through that which He says and live to do them.
Disciples of Jesus are people who Obey the word of God and also continue  it.

John  8:31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye CONTINUE in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

His commandments can only be kept by lovers of God.

John  14:15  IF ye love me, keep my commandments.

We must continue in His word, Obey His words, that’s where the blessing is. We shouldn’t obey man more than God. I’m not saying we should disrespect authority, no, but when they go beyond their boundary against the principles of God, we can. Peter said

Acts  5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, WE OUGHT TO OBEY GOD RATHER THAN MEN.

That’s how to live. We live by obeying the Lord. Let’s trust and receive grace to obey the Lord, even when it doesn’t make sense to us. There is a proverb in Yoruba(Nigeria) that says “What an elder see while sitting, a child that climbs the ladder will never see it”

God sees more than we do, and that’s why we must obey Him and become doers of His Word. Be moved by His words. Whatsoever the Lord says to do, just do it! Don’t think it out, just do it! You will see what will follow. There is joy in obeying the Lord. Just do it!

James told us by the Spirit of God, to not just hear the word and but also do it. Listen don’t just be moved by that fact that you heard the Lord, be moved more to do what He says.

James  1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

There is blessing in obeying the Lord. A blessed man is a man that obeys the instructions of the Lord.

You’re blessed because you do what the Lord says to do, and also you also partake in obeying God. Become a doer of God’s word and you’ll see yourself grow and become blessed in your deeds. Keep walking in obedience to His Word.
