It is not a new thing that new revelation will break forth and also seeing people confusing and opposing the truth of the word. Many times, we use to feel this may come out from those that are outside but really this happens from those that are within. Paul the Apostle experienced it and even John the beloved.

_2 Timothy  4:14 Alexander the coppersmith *DID ME MUCH EVIL*: the Lord reward him according to his works:_

_4:15 Of whom be thou ware also; *FOR HE HATH GREATLY WITHSTOOD OUR WORDS*._

_4:16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge._

We saw in his first letter to Timothy it tells also what was done in conjunction with another person.

_1 Timothy  1:20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, *THAT THEY MAY LEARN NOT TO BLASPHEME.*_

So Paul now advised Timothy.

_1 Timothy  1:19 *HOLDING FAITH,* and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:_

So it is not the first time, we can even find ourselves weaving about with revelations and dumping this and that like Ayo Oliyide said that “this generation is a dump and pick generation.” I can’t forget that. That word adjusted me. Every revelation that God brings to you is not for you to dump them. God normally expose you to what your growth could bear. When you want to tell a little child about God, you need to use maybe pictures, or to tell him about Bible you something like pictures and cartoon. So, after some time you begin to expose him little by little to things. But the child when he grow up will never throw away that experience. He will remember it and will even use that for his children also. I know some may say but the Bible says…

_1 Corinthians  13:11  When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things._

Yes this talks about your growth. But it never says to put away the experience. Never forget the experiences that has brought you this far. We must in this age be lovers of truth and search the scriptures for ourselves and know the Lord for ourselves and also learn to be open to hear others and receive what they are saying by the spirit of God.

John speaking by the Spirit of God.

_1 John  2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time._

_2:19 *THEY WENT OUT FROM US, BUT THEY WERE NOT OF US;* for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, *THAT THEY MIGHT BE MADE MANIFEST THAT THEY WERE NOT ALL OF US.*_

Something like this affected the people of Galatians, Paul always saying there are some among you that is taking you away from the  word.

_Galatians  5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: *BUT HE THAT TROUBLETH YOU* shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be._

What people do is to subvert the truth. But what the Spirit of God reveals to us must always bring us to the knowledge of the truth. Not  just us but all men.

_1 Timothy  2:4  Who will have all men to be saved, and *TO COME UNTO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH*_

We are not supposed to be learning and just do nothing to come to the truth.

_2 Timothy  3:7  Ever learning, and *NEVER ABLE TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.*_

The knowledge of the truth is the knowledge of the Son. For Jesus is the truth. What we are expected to come into is Christ in HIS fullness. Christ must be fully formed in us. So that when we are in Christ, we are in the Father. Even in the times when the people of God were kept by the law, it was expected to bring them to One man, Christ.

_Galatians  3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster *TO BRING US UNTO CHRIST,* that we might be justified by faith._

What we are expected to do therefore as the word of the Lord is coming to us is to search what we hear, hold on the truth, walk in them and continue in it.

_2 Timothy  1:13  *HOLD FAST THE FORM OF SOUND WORDS,* which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus._

_Titus  1:9  *HOLDING FAST THE FAITHFUL WORD AS HE HATH BEEN TAUGHT,* that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers._

This is a fatherly admonition to his sons in the faith. This is still applicable to us today.

He also said to continue in it.

_2 Timothy  3:14  *BUT CONTINUE THOU IN THE THINGS WHICH THOU HAST LEARNED AND HAST BEEN ASSURED OF,* knowing of whom thou hast learned them;_

You see the word, knowing of whom thou hast learned them. Who is your teacher? Your teacher is very important. What teachers do is to impact what they have to you. So, who do you listen to? The person you listen to his important. I remember been taught in church one day about the ministry gifts and we mentioned the fivefold ministry, a common word was said about them that they must all show you Christ and bring you to Christ. The person you learn from is important and the Labour of such must to bring you to Christ. Even prosperity been taught must bring you to Christ and not raise covetousness within, Pastor Seyi Adefemi said that in a meeting. And we must learn to continue in the things we have learnt.

Jesus said

_John  8:31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him,  *IF YE CONTINUE IN MY WORD,* then are ye my disciples indeed;_

For these are His Word to us and we must continue in it.

Again we see Paul speaking

_Colossians  1:23 *IF YE CONTINUE IN THE FAITH GROUNDED AND SETTLED, AND BE NOT MOVED AWAY FROM THE HOPE OF THE GOSPEL, WHICH YE HAVE HEARD,* and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;_

_1 Timothy  4:16  *TAKE HEED UNTO THYSELF, AND UNTO THE DOCTRINE; CONTINUE IN THEM:* for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee._

You see the profit of continuing in the word of the Lord and sound doctrine.

_James  1:25  *BUT WHOSO LOOKETH INTO THE PERFECT LAW OF LIBERTY, AND CONTINUETH THEREIN,* he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed._

That’s another profit, that we shall be blessed in our deeds. Glory to God.

Revelation is good. The thing you must say to yourself is what’s the Lord saying to me? What has He been calling my attention to? How do I respond to Him? That’s how to grow in the Lord. We hardly pick what the Lord is saying to us, some times I may be written some things and feel is for others whereas is for me. We must learn to pay attention to what the Lord is saying to us. Hold on to the truth. Sit with the word and learn and also learn from the brethren of like minds. I pray we will increase daily in the Lord in Jesus name. This I say by the word.

_1 Timothy  4:15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all._

Keep walking by holding on to the sound doctrine of the word of God.
