HOW TO WATCH OVER OTHERS IN THE SECRET PLACE.

One of the things we need as God’s people is to pray for one another or to remember each other in the place of prayer. Some times there may be need to tell someone “I’m praying for you” you won’t know how this could strengthen your friend and push them to know that someone is agreeing with me in the place of prayers,  and make them feel encouraged and want to also pray more by trusting God also in the place of prayers. One of the scriptures God has hooked my heart with is the prayer of Paul, when I read his Epistle and I see the word always making mention of you or remembering you always in my prayers. This phrase as small as it could be has helped me  not just to pray for my friends but to also learn to make mention of them when I pray. We may generally say I pray for all my loved ones, yes, this could be effective but I learn from Pastor Orioke that “You will get maximum result when you fill a bottle with water one after the other than just putting the whole bottles down and just pour water into them.” this will help us to carefully watch over one another.

We see Paul has an example of how he made mention of believers in his prayers always

2 Timothy  1:3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, THAT WITHOUT CEASING I HAVE REMEMBRANCE OF THEE IN MY PRAYERS NIGHT AND DAY;

Romans  1:9  For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that WITHOUT CEASING I MAKE MENTION OF YOU ALWAYS IN MY PRAYERS;

This he said that he do always without ceasing making mention of them in his prayers, some night and day. This is such a heart we must pray for. This will help us and keep the believer bind together and strengthen their growth.

There was a man called Epaphras that labored for the people of God in the place of prayers. Paul will have studied him and heard this man prayed this prayers.

Colossians  4:12 EPAPHRAS, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, ALWAYS LABORING FERVENTLY FOR YOU IN PRAYERS, THAT YE MAY STAND PERFECT AND COMPLETE IN ALL THE WILL OF GOD.

You see, that prayers, we must learn to pray not just for ourselves but also for others. This was a man that labored over the people of God fervently in the place of prayers. Let’s see what the prayers he prayed for  them.

>That ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

This is what the church need, this prayer is the will of God for man, even for His church. To stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. That’s deep!
Paul could bear this man with such a great record.

Colossians  4:13 For I bear him record, that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis.

Let’s see another church that Paul prayed for and the prayers he prayed for them.

Ephesians  1:16 CEASE NOT TO GIVE THANKS FOR YOU, MAKING MENTION OF YOU IN MY PRAYERS;
1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, MAY GIVE UNTO YOU the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
1:18 The EYES OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING BEING ENLIGHTENED; THAT YE MAY KNOW what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,  1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,  1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

This is again a prayer where Paul do not cease to make mention of the church in Ephesians in his prayers. I remember Kenneth E. Hagin said that he prayed this prayers for months and then he said to his wife that what have I been preaching? and this was a prayer Paul prayed for the church and it’s effective till today. Hardly will you see some folks not pray this prayers that the eyes of my understanding being enlightened. When we pray this prayers for one another, our heart will become United in one. This is a prayer we must pray for one another.

WHEN WE REMEMBER THE FAITH AND LOVE OF THE BRETHREN IT PUSH US TO PRAY ALWAYS FOR THEM.

1 Thessalonians  1:2 We give THANKS to God ALWAYS FOR YOU ALL, MAKING MENTION OF YOU IN OUR PRAYERS;
1:3 Remembering WITHOUT CEASING YOUR WORK OF FAITH, and LABOUR OF LOVE, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

Can we have this done in our local churches for other believers close to our ministries and some that are not close to our ministries, so long they belong to Christ.
This is a prayer prayed for the church in Thessalonica and they became effective in their lives, for we see how their faith and love grew. The first letter tells that they were examples in to all that believe.

2 Thessalonians  1:3 We are BOUND TO thankY GOD ALWAYS FOR YOU, brethren, as it is meet, because that your FAITH GROWETH EXCEEDINGLY, and the CHARITY OF EVERY ONE OF YOU ALL toward each other aboundeth;  1:4 So that we ourselves GLORY IN YOU in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

They grew so much that they became examples to other believers and the Apostles begin to glory in them in other churches.

Let’s see another

Philemon  1:4 I thank my God, MAKING MENTION OF THEE ALWAYS IN MY PRAYERS,  1:5 HEARING OF THY LOVE AND FAITH, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;
1:6 That the COMMUNICATION OF THY FAITH MAY BECOME EFFECTUAL by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
1:7 For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother.

So we see that we must learn to pray for one another. We can pray for one another’s need and also meet them as much as we have them.

Philippians  4:16 For even in Thessalonica YE SENT ONCE AND AGAIN UNTO MY NECESSITY.
4:17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
4:18 But I have all, and abound: I AM FULL, HAVING RECEIVED OF EPAPHRODITUS THE THINGS WHICH WERE SENT FROM YOU, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.  4:19 But my God SHALL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEED ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS.

We must carefully watch over one another in the place of prayer.

HOW DO I MAKE MENTION OF BELIEVERS IN THE PLACE OF PRAYERS?

You can start by writing their names down, and when we do that, we can gradually pray for some selected few in a day and then go again to pick some the next day.
We can also pray for as many that are coming to our hearts, we can start with the first person that comes to mind in the place of prayers then as we go on, words of prayers needed for such people may come to our hearts, we can also pray it too.
Even as we pray for that person you will observe that some names of your friends keep coming. Some times when I pray for a friend, the person that is close to that person also come to mind so I also pray for the person. By this we begin to increase and grow on this part.
We can also learn to pray for churches and nations and be aware a little with what’s happening in some countries and also pray for them.
We can also pray for some ministries, their Pastors and their members. That’s how it starts and before you know it, you stay more in the place of prayers for them and it becomes a nature and even what you keep living by. I know there are times, we feel, how will I mention all this names, you can pray for them as your loved ones but this sometimes is because we are becoming tired of doing so, don’t be discouraged because after some times, you will get to improve more. Really we can start by picking some people one after the other. Prayer is a seed. When we sow it, we will also reap it in due season. There is tremendous power made available in the place of prayers. Remember, the power made available in the place of prayers is greater than the man that prayed. God will keep you also as you watch over your friends and the church in the secret place. Keep walking.
