There are two basic means by which we talk. Although one is louder than the other to us in the physical, the mouth and heart. Well, that of the heart is not much more obvious to people. Many times we can judge or discern a man by what he says and truly people can also deceive one another by their sayings and their heart may not agree to it. Even in the last days the strategy of the wicked one is to deceive many with lies and do some wonders. He actually spoke first from his heart before his mouth utter the word.

Isaiah  14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  14:13 For thou hast said in THINE HEART, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

You ask how did God know or see his heart. God is all knowing God.

1 Samuel  2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD IS A GOD OF KNOWLEDGE, and BY HIM ACTIONS ARE WEIGHED.

So you see, he was caught right there from his heart. You remember the daughter of Saul  that said a terrible word against David when he danced before the Lord? She did it from her heart first

2 Samuel  6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.  6:15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.  6:16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; AND SHE DESPISED HIM IN HER HEART.

Then she did with her mouth

2 Samuel  6:20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, AND SAID, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

And she became the only woman that died barren. You see, the heart is a place where serious matters emanate from, is not from the mouth first.

“The heart is a  place of the true expression of a man’s life”

That’s why scripture said to guide it with all diligence.

Now let’s consider the life of that man, David that danced before God. Who knew how the heart and mouth goes along together.

Psalms  19:14 Let the WORDS OF MY MOUTH, AND THE MEDITATION OF MY HEART, BE ACCEPTABLE IN THY SIGHT, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

What are the words that goes out of your mouth? So many times check it, it does not agree with your heart. Your heart shows a small sign of disagreement to it.
Paul speaking said

Colossians  4:6  LET YOUR SPEECH BE ALWAY WITH GRACE, SEASONED WITH SALT, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

he said always…

Let’s see

Ecclesiastes  10:12 The WORDS OF A WISE MAN’S MOUTH ARE GRACIOUS; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.

“Our words must be a well of life that shape us and others.”

There is much connection with the mouth and the heart.

“The mouth is the exposer of what’s going on in the heart. Yet it can not speak all that’s in the heart.”

“The mouth is the carrier of the words of the heart.”

Luke  6:45  A good man out of the good treasure of his HEART BRINGETH FORTH that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the ABUNDANCE OF THE HEART HIS MOUTH SPEAKETH.

“The mouth always speaks portions of what’s in the heart.”

° The act or process of spending time in quiet thought
° The act or process of meditating: an expression of a person’s thoughts on something (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)

You note the word spending time, in a quiet thought, and thought is done in the heart, and when thoughts are going on in the heart. The heart is never noisy in speaking. It is when it is passed to the mouth that it utters a sound then you know what it means. Lovers understand this that, you don’t fall in love just by mouth, you need the commitment of the heart or to first see the commitment of the heart.
Meditation is deep, it allow it sink better in the heart. Configuration of how to say words too lies in there. There are lot of things that go on in the heart. That’s why scriptures says to guide it with diligence.

The profession of our faith comes not with words alone, it also came with the involvement of  the heart.

Romans  10:9 That if thou shalt CONFESS WITH THY MOUTH the Lord Jesus, and SHALT BELIEVE IN THINE HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  10:10 FOR WITH THE HEART MAN BELIEVETH UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS; AND WITH THE MOUTH CONFESSION IS MADE UNTO SALVATION.

So believing is from the heart and then having the faith completely is done is by confession unto salvation. That’s how it begins.

“Salvation is not complete without the heart and the mouth”

Paul said
Romans  12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present YOUR BODIES a living sacrifice, holy, ACCEPTABLE unto God, which is your reasonable service.

I believe part of our body is mouth.

“Our words and hearts  becomes living when it is done with the understanding of the word of God  because the word of God spoken are spirit and life.”

John  6:63  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the WORDS that I SPEAK UNTO YOU, THEY ARE SPIRIT, AND THEY ARE LIFE.

“When the word dwells in you richly it brings you into saying the right thing in your heart and in your mouth, thereby making it acceptable.”

Colossians  3:16 Let the WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and SPIRITUAL SONGS, singing with grace in your HEARTS TO THE LORD.

“The only song that must be on our lips must be spiritual songs, or else we sing songs that are not acceptable before Him.”

so you see, you make the most of it when it is done with the Word of God.

“The acceptable offering is the offering done with the revelation of the word of God, because the word of God is Spirit and life. And so what we offer to God must be life because God is a Spirit”

“Only the righteous knows what to offer and he knows what’s acceptable to God through the knowledge of His Word.”

Proverbs  10:32 THE LIPS OF THE RIGHTEOUS KNOW WHAT IS ACCEPTABLE: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

We can offer what’s acceptable  to Him continually.

Hebrews  13:15  By him therefore let us OFFER the SACRIFICE of praise to God CONTINUALLY, that is, the fruit of our LIPS giving thanks to his name.

Murmuring and complains are not acceptable before Him. In fact, it makes him unhappy.
When you pray fervently with your heart in the place of prayer, the words of your lips must not be different from the prayers you prayed, it must agree with the prayers you just prayed.

1 John  5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

So you have to learn to rejoice after you prayed. Let the word of your mouth and that which you meditated upon even after praying, be acceptable in His sight. You’re righteous through Him and you must use His Word. His word is always  acceptable in His sight. Keep walking…
