Speaker 2: Pastor Tayo Fasan
I thank God that He has started with us on a new note. For many of us are anticipating what’s next. It’s clear now that the emphasis of the Spirit is that God wants us to partake of something on time.
The wages of sin is death. Sin in itself is anything done outside faith. So, the wages of anything done outside faith is death. We have seen generations that have laboured and collected wages of sin, and have died. Death has been reigning, because men have been labouring outside faith.
It is guaranteed that when your soul does not learn to transact with what is not seen, then you verily have a reward or wage, either at the end of the month or day.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
God’s reward is a gift, not a wage. It’s not by your strength or labour you receive eternal life. It’s a gift. You’ve done nothing to deserve it.
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
Though you walk by faith, yet it is God who is working it out in you.
” I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
The reason many generations failed and died is because they were not able to deal with the issue of NOT. We need to come to the place of, “Yet, NOT I”.
For many generations, God has been waiting for man to receive His offer/promise of eternal life.
The rich young ruler saw a lifestyle of no toiling. He recognised that Jesus was living a life of rest. So he asked Jesus what he could do to inherit eternal life.
” And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”
Eternal life had been distant for long, but at a time, a man could see it near.
“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life…”
The apostles had been relating with the life from afar; that’s what he meant by starting with ‘That’. But now, they were able to see it more clearer by the HolyGhost who amplified Eternal Life to them, and they brought it home. So that now, they were able to say, “This is eternal life”, meaning eternal life has come nearer.
“And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”
The rich young ruler saw Jesus and called Him “good”. This means he saw the life of faith at work in Jesus’ life. Faith is good.
What faith does is to give us entrance into life. The tutorials of faith are to shut down the world and gives us access into eternal life. When you keep commandments of faith, you will be granted access to life.
The issue of faith is the one of keeping commandments. Once you can keep commandments, then you can walk in faith.
“Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith…”
In the above verse, we have the commandment for all nations to obey faith. God has been breaking the mystery of this faith for us to live it. The reason we are to keep faith, and have entrance into life is so that we can come into abundance of life.
We are in the season of coming into perfection; that is love. Faith empowers you to come into this perfection. You need the faith of the son of God to develop a nature that hates the world.
“Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.”
Jesus asked the ruler to give his goods to the poor. Those goods are the goods of the inward man that will stop him from accessing life. This encounter is showing us what happens in souls. In this story, it is the soul that is being taught to sell all that it has.
We all have to be captivated by the life of God in our souls by reason of what we’ve been hearing. We’ve all been holding this life at the measure/degree of what we see and can relate with.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you , and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.”
What He was downloading to the disciples are the things that the Holy Spirit will later interpret – “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26).
“Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.”
This is the light of faith. We are to partner with God to interpret faith, because that is what will overcome the problem of those who love the world.
We need to be able to enlighten men that love the world, and convict them by the virtue of our life. You need to make men see how you lived by faith in different seasons.
Faith is what we ought to live by; It is what we ought to spend. Those who shall become the light of the Holy city are those who have come into love.
What the word of righteousness wants to do in this creation is to raise men who shall be the light of the Holy city (Holy city – Rev. 21).
You can only partake of the light of faith if you are a dweller in the house. You can’t afford to be a wanderer. If you are struggling with the light that heaven has been trying to shine out for years and months, then it must mean that you’re not yet putting your foot on the ground. Some are still trafficking. This is not the place to traffic, we ought to move with the pillar of fire and cloud.
The gift of God is eternal life. It is for those who have been brought to the place of not doing anything for themselves. This is what will validate sonship.
Heaven will have to, through our lives, interpret the life in Matthew 5 in us. It is the life of faith being brought to us.
One of the trainings some of you who have this walk have, is to be able to love those who hate you. At such times, you ought to fight the good fight of faith, so that you can lay hold on life.
1 John 2:8
“Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.”
The commandment was described as the new commandment, because God was able to unveil the commandment through a man’s obedience.
Children, sons, and then fathers all started with the commandment of faith. The end of this commandment is love.
In this season, heaven is making the things of the commandments true in us. It was first made true in Jesus, and it needs to be true in us. If Jesus kept the faith and the love of the Father, then we should be able to keep them also.
It is first made real in Jesus, and it tells us that it must also be made real in us.
The soul is the one who keeps these commandments (faith and love). Such a soul is a soul that lives in Christ.
Let’s say to God that we will not draw back, even in hearing. There is a hearing in this season that will give birth to a sight, captivate our hearts, and cause us to hold on to what the Lord is saying in this season.
