Believers’ Convention 2015 (London, United Kingdom)
Theme: The Word of His Power
Day 3- Morning Session
(Friday, 28th August, 2015)
Ministering: Rev. Kayode Oyegoke.
Bible text: Hebrew 1:1-7
“Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of ALL THINGS, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding ALL THINGS by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”
“Howbeit when he, the SPIRIT OF TRUTH, is come, he will guide you into ALL TRUTH : for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
Truth are the things that makes one, it is the combination of ‘things’ that makes ‘all truth’. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of truth; this isn’t a future vision of this life, but all things of things to come. If I want to know all truth, I must know all things; I can’t know truth if I don’t know all things, and I can’t know God without knowing all things. To really know God is to know truth; Truth are the ingredients of God. If I say I want to know God, I must know all truth.
“He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
You can’t see Jesus in His true essence except by ‘all things’. The disciples saw Him, yet, they didn’t know Him. You need to see Him through His things. You can be with Him and He will never give you truth, just as the 12 disciples never knew Him in truth until Paul came. He is truth, the Spirit is truth, and the Father is truth.
Why we have the Holy Spirit inside us is for truth to be revealed – John 16:14. When the Holy Ghost comes inside a man, it means the ministry of revelation is inevitable. Holy Ghost does more than infilling, He’ll begin to show you truth, and be a teacher of truth to you.
“All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
“For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. 35. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.”
What Jesus was speaking isn’t but words from God; Jesus was a man speaking the seed of God. The gospel of John told us of how Jesus was able to do that – “the Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.” (John 3:35). All the time Jesus was on the earth in Joseph’s house, He was commuting treasures – passing from one state of treasure to another until He had all things.
“… And hath given all things into His hand”: This means that the Son should lay hold on them. All along, God has been looking for a way to commit things to man. This is what every human being on earth should be living for. God told me that every man’s point of arrival is the most holy place.
“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
Even before man was made, They (the Godhead) knew to whom They wanted to give the light to. If the Word has life, it means that God the Father has life.
“For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;”
When Jesus came to the earth, He left that life and all its glory with the Father in Heaven. If He came to the earth with it, He would have broken the protocol of redemption. Just to show us that He can give life to man, the Logos became everything man. Then, while He was growing up, He began to be taught and, God began to communicate to Him on how to live the life that is of God.
“19. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. 21. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. 22. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:”
“all things” means all judgement, and the word “Judgement” means “Discernment”, which is what God uses to evaluate. That height and level of judgement sets Him apart from everything He created. Judges decree justice, so when you say judgement, it’s Wisdom. God wanted Jesus not to operate as man, He wanted Him to think like God.
1 Corinthians 2:6-7
“Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:”
Before the world was made, God ordained how to live, and He kept it hidden. Princes are beings of wisdom, but God had to keep this wisdom hidden from them.
1 Corinthians 2:8-9
“Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 8. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him”
If Satan knew that by Christ and the cross, men will come to glory, he wouldn’t have touched Him. He never knew the essence of salvation, even the hidden wisdom.
What are the things that God prepared for man? All things! That means the Father love the Son and committed all things in His hand. God won’t commit these things to you except you also show Him some love.
1 Corithians 2:9-10, 12-14
Holy Spirit has the ability to enable you think the way God thinks, but that’s what Satan hates; he wants you to think contrary, and that thought pattern is dark. When you submit yourself to God, you have the opportunity to think like God.
1 Corithians 2:15
“But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.”
When you begin to think the way the Father thinks, He’ll rely on you, and commit to you the seat of judgement. When your thinking pattern has been cleansed and purified by His epistle, it makes you a judgement being.
Even though at times, they beg you to come to fellowship, it is to make you sit. As simple and childlike as it seems, you’re attaining something. God won’t show you things the way the world sees it because you have to see by faith.
Some of us blame Esau, and question why he sold his birthright. He didn’t see anything relevant in it until a particular season, and he later sought after it with tears. Some of us still see this path as no value. Actually, birthright meant nothing to Esau then, but later, he knew that it was something.
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
As long as you’re travelling along with this word, you’re changing. How will Jesus allow you to judge the twelve tribes of Israel? God needs to change your thought. Holy Spirit is the tracer, He judgeth all things; even Satan is under the “all things”. A spiritual man is higher and comes into higher thinking pattern because all other things are under it.
When you say, “they don’t know me, they are playing with fire”, what you are doing to yourself is that you are dropping; Satan wants you to drop. When you’re taking up the mantle of responsibility in the spirit, hell will cast a stone and tempt you not to be spiritual.
The devil checks what He can do to bring a flesh reaction out of you to make you carnal so that you can be a prey. It’s not easy to win the war: Satan wars against you with yourself and with people. Thank God you’ll never remain carnal anymore. Satan will give you pressure because He doesn’t want you to go up, but this is where we finish Him. He wants us to think differently, but this is where we win the war.
He doesn’t want us to do or think like God does because God is Spirit and lives as a Spirit. God is a quickening Spirit who is giving us a quickening judgement. It’s higher than angels that are spirit, so, any man who has the quickening order can give light.
When I see as one whose has gotten quickening order, Satan will not understand me. It is the Father who quickens the dead, and He quickens whomsoever He wills. The word ‘quicken’ is to live the way God lives. God is in love with us, and He’s calling us up to please Him at a very high realm that ordinary spirit can’t understand.
“All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
God gave ‘all things’ to the Son when He was on earth; Jesus obeyed, fulfilled, and sat down at the right hand of the Father. This is why He’s holding all things by the word of His power. Jesus obeyed! Obedience is sacrifice. God gives you ‘things’ to obey, and when you finish obeying them, they become yours.
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”
I can’t know God except by His things. For me to know Him accurately, I must know the things in Him. Satan wanted to be like God; it wasn’t in terms of what’s around Him, but what’s in Him.
The Lord showed me how cherubs praise Him, they say, “Holy holy is the Lord God”. There’s a way angels know Him, and there is a way the Jews know Him, which is yet not all of Him. Our Lord Jesus is a being of things to come, and we need to see Him who is to come.
What is called truth are things to come. Moses knew God darkly, other men too knew Him darkly. All Satan was crazy about was the things in God which He didn’t have access to. God hid it even before creating Lucifer; He knew someone would be stubborn. God can never trust you with things except you love Christ first, because only Christ have the requirements to have those things.
Things to come are truth, and truth is God’s word. The things are in Him; His things are His word. His word guides His power; you can’t have access to His power except through that word.
“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”
There’s something about God’s power. All things are in God’s hand, but God doesn’t tamper with will – He doesn’t take your will by force. One thing He respects most is will; He can come and appeal to you and ask, but He won’t force it. He loves your will, He wants to help you to be willing, but He can’t force you.
Often times, we don’t even know how much control we have gained by the reason of His word we are living by, if not, all evil spirits would have eaten us up. Thank God for sending angels, but you see that world where Jesus is, it’s higher than the workings of the angelic.
Evil spirits are doing things, but God is still working. At times, God can throw thoughts to Satan, and Satan will thinking he is the one doing things. When Satan scattered churches, He didn’t know that He has helped God to do His will. Can you see what Satan has done to your lives? Yet, you have come to this place to hear the word.
If you have a good husband, good wife, a good life and all things are just perfectly okay with you, this word wouldn’t mean anything to you. You may not have conformed totally, but you’re hearing this word – “All things work together for good”. So, the evil Satan is doing may not even be called evil. That is why nothing can work against you. All, not some things, work together for your good!
Are you seeing that the evil you’ve been praying to get delivered from is working out for your good? If our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our heart – 1 John 3:20, Hallelujah!!!
Who can do exceedingly and above what we can ask or think? You don’t know what He is doing. God is going beyond us; He is bigger than our definitions. May we have His judgement as His life.
“For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.”
How does He commit to us the world to come? He gives us the things to come. We are to live in the world to come by using the things to come; we should no longer live by the pattern of this world. The things, the life and the world to come has been an ancient world that has never been revealed, but He’s bringing it to us now.
“But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;”
Jesus is a high priest of good things to come.
Thank you Jesus for Your mercies. You’ll work in us, and may Your power ground and establish us as we manifest the good things to come. We will hold them by Your grace. Father, anyone that is here tonight, may You bless them, and teach them to hold Your word. And Father, the circumstances that are ugly, and the ones they don’t like to see, may they be swallowed up by Your life. Let the beauty of the inward man overcome that which they do see.
