Believers’ Convention 2015

DAY 4 ( Wednesday, 19th Aug., 2015)

Morning Session

Speaker 1: Mummy Akinola

The Lord has something to say and He expects that when we get back to our different places, we’ll see Him help us make what is happening here to happen there as well.

As regards our conduct and manner to the things of the Spirit, we’ve not started having full expressions of the demonstration of the Spirit, and it’s expected that the demonstration of the Spirit should be at all of our meetings not just at Believers’ Convention. There’s need for orderliness in the house of God so we do not be like the Corinthian church. When you’re under the Spirit, you’re not supposed to throw away orderliness. You should know when to stop and observe when the Spirit lifts.

Acts 2:17-18
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18  And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy”

1 Corinthians 14: 39-40
“Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40  Let all things be done decently and in order.”

God is not the author of confusion. When the Spirit comes on you, your own spirit is still there. The Holy Spirit is beautiful and when He moves, His movement is beautiful. You should know when the Spirit has lifted. When the Spirit lifts, please stop! I’m really pained that’s why I’m talking like this. I’m not trying to stop the demonstrations of the Spirit. No! Like I said earlier on, we’ve not had enough. In one of Kenneth Hagin’s camp meetings, there were serious demonstrations that really blessed me.

At one of the Conventions we held at Helen Baugh some years ago, Reverend Ken was running and running in a demonstration. He ran so much, I’ve never seen him run like that before, even when he was young. After running, he started panting and he gave the interpretation of the demonstration. Let us watch the older ones. Anything done beyond when the Spirit has lifted, is an activity of the flesh. It is deception when you continue after the Spirit has lifted.

psalm 19:7-10
“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.”

That is how beautiful the testimony is, Psalm 119 has a repetition of ‘the law, the testimony, statutes, the commandments, fear, and Judgments and they all point to the testimony.

Vs. 10
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

How strong is your desire this morning for the testimony? The testimony is for Jesus and He passes it to us by revelation. But our desire must be strong. The testimony protects us but it is not found outside. It’s being deposited in us. Jesus is on the inside, working in us. The testimony must speak, we must desire it, and we must want it. We must seek it with the whole of our hearts. The Lord always recognises and blesses seekers.

Lord, increase my desire for your things, beyond what I may ask and imagine.
Reach out to God and ask Him to help you know your limit. He’s the owner of the manifestations.

“Lord, I want to know when the Spirit lifts, and I want You to help me.”
