One day, while on a journey to another city to perform the business of his life as a gentleman on the highway, he encountered something that for the first time registered love in his heart. A mother who had a sucking baby was in train he also was traveling with sitting just adjacent the woman. He watched the mother do all she could to bring comfort and succour to her baby in her hands. She discomforted herself just to bring comfort to the baby in a bid to show her love. While on the journey, lasted, something terrible happened, fire gut out in the train which made everybody scrambling for their lives.

He noticed the woman didn’t just scramble for her own safety alone but sought first for the safety of her own baby who was very vulnerable and defenceless. She ran straight to the exit which was already filled with people running for their lives only to discover that there was no way out except through the fire. She then wrapped her baby very well using her own clothes, while she left her body almost uncovered. She went through the fire without holding back just to ensure her baby was saved. She was burnt by the fire but the baby was not at all. Some people perished with the incident but because of her love for the baby, she pushed through until she was saved, although with burns, the baby was completely unhurt.

This incidence broke this notorious man to tears as he wished his mother had gone through all she can to ensure that his life was saved. He wept for days anytime the thought of the event resonates in his mind. “How I wish my mother cared for me this much, maybe I would have been saved,” the man said. This led the man to a priest to ask “what must I do to be saved?”

Love can break anybody. Love is an active force that can break any barrier. Rather than resort to judging and condemning people, show them a higher way of life, love. “For God has commended His love to us that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. Rom. 5:8. And we also must be willing to show relentless love to the worst sinner around us so we can help bring them to see the love of God that has given us the way of escape.

God’s Gift
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Our Responsibility
Ephesians 5:2. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Let love break the sinner, not your condemnation. God bless you.
