Speaker 6: Pastor Emeka Egwuchukwu
The Lord loves us; He’s chastening us because He loves us. He won’t leave us to our folly; this is what love does; love goes after folly to take it away. You’re screaming and shouting, but love is at work. The feminine nature is the expression of God’s love; it’s tender, but it is firm. That pain is because He needs to take away what is about to allow darkness ravage you.
The Lord will do everything to take our darkness away; My prayer is that we yield to Him. God will keep fighting with us until He has taken our diseases away. God is of power to establish us according to the revelation of Jesus Christ and He will not relent. He will save us to the uttermost; seeing that He ever liveth to make intercessions for us. He will present us before himself without blame and be holy.
The reason the Lord will warn us is because He loves us. The warnings are not to make us sad, but to work godly sorrow which leads to repentance. The sorrow of this world cannot do this; but godly sorrow- the sorrow worked out by the power of God through the word of God which shows us a way of escape from our darkness. The whole book of Hebrews is written for the purpose of entrance; entrance was made mentioned a lot of times in that book.
One of the things about entrance is first and foremost an escape from death; this death is not physical death. By now, we should begin to understand what sin is and what death is. Whenever a soul goes against the law of life, he dies. It is the soul that sins, and when he sins, he dies. The death of the soul is not instant, it is gradual. The reason God made the soul that way is so that He can still recover the soul from death; before death takes him completely.
You know when you’re losing life, you do not need any preacher to tell you this. You have the Spirit of God which bears witness with you that you’re a child of God, but He also bears witness with the fact that you’re losing life whenever you are doing so. The reason we are children of God is because we have been called to keep life. You can be dying and stand on your own justification and be confident, you shouldn’t do that with sin or death. Death is higher than you and if not for the life of God, death would have consumed you; we all would have ended up like Sodom; this is an example of what death can do. Let’s see Sodom and Gomorrah as a soul; Sodom and Gomorrah means the heart and mind respectively. Death ravaged this soul to a point where the soul was fit for nothing but destruction (fire); God could no longer recover such a soul. You need to see how death works so that you won’t leave it the way it is. Sin for a carnal man is the works of the flesh (it starts from there though), but it’s bigger than this.
Sin is the strength of death, it is a law that gives strength to death to reign. The reigning force of sin is death. Death here means consumption; death just keeps eating up the life in the soul. Sin fears nothing, we must realise this and know that it is not afraid of you; it was not even afraid of the law of Moses. Sin knows where it’s coming from, it comes from a height. It’s not an operation of man; it did not originate from man but from one of the brightest of the finest creations. It came from the height, but the Lord dealt with it in the depths! If you want to deal with sin, go low; this was the instruction the Father gave to Jesus. Sin does not know how to go down, it’s always high and bragging. Lay down and let it go; as you do this, you’re bringing sin to a domain that it does not understand anymore. Sin is a high thing which is always against the knowledge of God, as a result, God went down to foolish it and brought sin to the realms of lowliness where it cannot operate.
This wisdom is from the Father, it is from the morning light. The instruction that was given to Jesus to lay His life down was an instruction from the Father. Jesus received commandment from the Father to let His life go, to lay down His life. One thing with death is that it keeps taking and can never give; it’s like the grave that keeps taking and cannot give, but life sheds and let’s go.
Death is also a life, even as sin is a life principle. The potency of the life of God over death is that God’s life let’s go. Death never let’s anything go; anything it finds in it’s hands, it wants to consume it. One of the major reasons for entrance is to be able to escape death in all forms, shades and fashions. We are just understanding sin and death; it is when you understand life that you will understand death better.
Entrance is for an escape from death; it has to take the life that is in God – the importation of the life that is in God to deal with the other life which is actually death. It takes a higher life to deal with death. Higher life in the sense that it’s not a creature-life, but the life of the creator. Death came from one of the best of creation and has power to eat up anything within creatures; this was the reason sin was even confident enough to tempt Jesus (another Adam). However, it will take the revelation of life that is in the creator (God) to deal with it.
“For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God”.
The law of Moses made nothing perfect. The drawing near unto God is escape from where we were before. As we draw near to God, we are escaping; this is what the better hope brought to us; it made it possible for us to draw nigh to God.
“Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec”
The hope is to make us draw near unto God; it is a hope set before us. If it is a hope, then it is a promise; when something is still within the hope region, it is a promise. This is not like the promises of men, God’s promise is different: they are exceedingly great and precious so that we can escape the corruption that is in the world through lust. These promises are what will help us escape. What God has left for us are these promises (the promise). The men of faith in Hebrew chapter 11 obtained promises, but they did not obtain the promise. But now, God has provided for us how this hope/promise can be realised. This hope needs to be realised in the soul; this is the reason the hope is an anchor to the soul; the hope is for your soul to enter. Where your spirit is is very far from where your soul is, and it will take light years journey to enter. The spirit does not need to enter, it was born into life like that; it is the soul that has to labour to enter.
The reason the soul has to labour to enter is because the soul is the keeper of things; he is the house. The soul is the seat of personality, it is where consciousness is felt. Whatever has been transported into the soul form what the soul is conscious of and it will be the soul’s judgement, ways and thoughts. When we talk about jealousy, clamour, pride and so on, it is one thing which is sin. For a soul that has not come into life, what it possesses is self consciousness (sin-consciousness). What the soul calls self-consciousness is actually sin that became a self in the soul, but God’s life can become self in a soul. Sin is the self that has been projected in the soul; whatever seats on the soul rules since the soul is the seat of personality. To get the symptoms that you find in the soul, take away the one who sits on the seat of the soul. There are many members in the soul, and to kill them all, you have to kill them all day long.
It takes a while to make sin take ground in the soul, and it will also take a time of work on the soul for it to live again. It is the soul that is sleeping the sleep of death, “Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light” (Eph. 5:14). Christ is the light that lights every man that passes on this earth; this means that Christ is supposed to be your consciousness. He’s supposed to be in your tabernacle – “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love” (Eph. 3:17).
When hope has brought it’s substances, that heart has come to faith. Faith has substances and it is based on something; if not, it’s not faith. Also, the faith of the Son has it’s substances on which the soul should be anchored on. When there are no substances of faith of the Son in the soul, the soul will not enter God.
The faith of the Son will deliver the Son to you. The hope is the rope that will draw your soul to where the son has entered. God’s hope is that one day, man will completely escape by the reason of entrance into Him, just like our Lord Jesus entered into God. The whole program of God is: How can man enter God? Jesus had entered God before He even died. The only one that can enter God is the Son and hence, you have to be made Son or Priest because the son is a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
No one will enter God with sin, and no one will come into God with death. “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3). Why did John include Jesus in this scripture? It is because Jesus is the eternal life that was sent, while the Father is the eternal life abode. Eternal life sent eternal life to come and receive men. The activities of the eternal life sent is to deal with sin and death. Today, when you hear his voice (revelation), do not harden your heart because if you do, you won’t enter God. If you reject the sent (Son), you can’t enter the abode (Father).
I can be born again and I’m rejecting the son; this was what John was saying in his epistle. It’s not by merely saying it, it’s by rejecting the instructions and commandments of the Son’s life. As you receive commandments, revelations will come. Commandment is the key for entrance, and heaven will only command those who They want to make priests. Check the book of Leviticus, the priests were the ones who received most of the commandments and they have to keep all of them because he’s the one that will draw near and enter into the temple.
Jesus is the priest who is harmless, separated from sinners, made higher than the heavens, and this is the Priest that can enter God; He is the stature for entrance. What eternal life sent will do to you is to make you like that, and you must hear him to be like this. Once you are like this, your entrance is sure because entrance is sure for such. Eventually, when you enter into God, that’s when journey even begins; God is very large, you will enter and enter and enter.
There is no door that can be shut against the Son. This door being spoken of is the Father, and the Son is the one who has key to the Father. If He opens the Father, no man can shut, and if He shuts the Father, no man can open. He is beckoning on us to come, saying: “the door is open”. May we hear Him, and as we hear Him, we become priests.
