Pst. Clever leading prayers…
Nothing agitated Jesus while He was here on earth: Out of fear, we jump out of the boat into the sea. It’s fear that kills man. Jesus kept scolding men for their unbelief, saying, ”O ye men of little faith” (Matt. 8:26) and “When I come, will I find men of faith?” (Luke 18:8).
There’s a kind of rest faith towards God gives you. We are troubled because we don’t trust God; that’s the truth. If we trust God, we’ll sleep. Unbelief has been so established in our hearts, but God will knock it out.
Let’s pray for our hearts. If God says the heart is desperately wicked (Jer. 17:9)e, then you can imagine how the heart is. If God would help your heart to believe Him, you’d enter His rest quicker. Some hearts are very slow in believing. Even birds of the air have more faith in God than men. Faith should become part of our lives, till we do it unconsciously. “Lord, help my heart. Help my unbelief. I must enter!”
Sometimes, we feel like we pray and God answers. No; even in the midst of those prayers, we still disbelieve God somewhere. God answers our prayers out of mercy; He chose to show mercy to us. There’s no Son that will come into rest without believing. Sons will have so much rest because they’ve come into believing God. The reason for unrest is because of unbelief that lies in us. Some of us still doubt God even for our daily bread and thus, we prolong our days in the wilderness. Let’s ask for mercy: Treat our unbelief O Lord.
All things are possible to him that believeth. This means it’s not a on-off thing; our lives should be faith. We should believe God in and for everything; it’s possible. “He that believeth shall not make haste” (Isaiah 28:16). Some of us believe what the devil has said even more than what the Lord has said: What the devil is doing and saying is more real to us than what God is saying to us; that’s an unbelieving state. It’s a terrible state for you to believe the devil more than your creator.
Personally, I’m of the opinion that spiritual growth is measured by how much you’re able to believe God. You can be here for 30 years and someone who has been here for just 5 years believes God more than you. God doesn’t count days; He looks out for faith. God is not impotent; we’ve only refused to believe what He said. What made the generation that couldn’t enter God is unbelief.
The church in the wilderness saw the miracles God performed, but they still disbelieved; It’s the same with us; it is an evil heart of unbelief. After seeing miracles in our hearts everyday, our minds still goes on to try solutions upon solutions when issues arise; our faith then rises after our opportunities have been drained without having solutions.
The reason some of us are still believing God is because we have not gotten some things we need. If you have those things you’re looking for, would you still believe? When you have abundance of those things, can you still trust Him for all things? Because you don’t have money you say “I’m in the wilderness”; that’s not the reason for wilderness. The reason for wilderness is for us to see what is in our hearts. Even when things come, our hope should still be God.
We can come to where we need nothing, but glory. We need a lot of help for our hearts to come into this place. “Help my heart, Lord. The heart sinks in false hopes; I want to come to a place where my heart is sick, not because I don’t have things, but because I’m not receiving God the way I ought to.” Let’s ask God to heal our hearts of wrong hopes.
Rev. Vicky’s prayers…
Dust our garments, Oh Lord. Grant us grace to journey further. Help us to lay hold on the materials of life. Heal our wounded hearts; speak and baptise us. We believe You will visit us. Increase out strength.
Out of the ashes of my dying today
I see the breaking of a brand new day
In which the name of the Lord alone is glorified
I see the breaking of a brand new day
May God help us to see the grace we are enjoying, and may we see better so we can understand it better. We have been given the last baton; we cannot afford to fall by the way side. I don’t want to be a disappointment to our fathers; they are all watching.
“I’m no longer my own; I’m Your garden.”

Hebrews 4:1-16; 2:10-18.
Jesus destroyed death, and he that has the power of death; the devil. Take your eyes off understanding destruction as a state in which things cease to exist. The devil will exist forever, yet he has been destroyed; after a while, he’ll be taken and cast into the lake of fire; which is the second death; he’ll end in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone.
Jesus has destroyed the devil, but he still exists. He’s an existing being who has been destroyed. Every spirit that followed Satan has been destroyed. All of such spirits are dead, but the greatest death-being is Satan. Spirits die according to their capacity. Satan’s angels are also death-beings themselves; but Satan is the real death; he’s more of death than them. The amount of death in Satan is higher than those of other dead spirits.
Jesus went directly to deal with the devil. Dealing with the devil is actually dealing with death: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, kill and destroy” (John 10:10).
Destruction is the highest assault you can give to anything. Man was dead spiritually before Christ came. Some people are dying more, but they’ve not been destroyed; their full death will be made manifest soon. Satan isn’t just a killer. Death kills and destroys. What Jesus did wasn’t just to slay sin; he destroyed sin; that’s the key.
“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
Jesus has the keys of hell and death; not just a key, but “keys”. Does the scripture above means Jesus can kill like death kills; or like death destroys? No; it only means Jesus has solved death problems. Jesus is living forever more because He has destroyed him that has the power of death.
Enoch didn’t destroy death, he just didn’t see it. To destroy death, you have to go down to hell. Jesus dealt with death in hell and destroyed it. There are levels in death dealing, and Jesus did all that was needed to be done. Satan would destroy a man to a point where he can’t be recovered. Death can’t recover himself; Jesus has destroyed satan. Satan can’t gather back the forces of death.
The Father-God is eternal life; Christ also is eternal life. There’s one mediator between God and man.
1 Timothy 2 :1 – 5
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus…”
Jesus wants men to come to God. The knowledge of the truth is God. The trinity want us to come to God. The mediator is He who can get you to God. Verse 5 of the scripture above explains verse 4 well. The power of God, for getting to God, is the mediator. It takes some kind of power to access God. No man can come to God by himself.
“And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.”
I can be saved, yet, unable to come to God. The man Christ Jesus is the mediator. The ordinary man can’t get to where God is. The kind of man that can get there is the man, Christ. It’s not easy to get to the tree of life. I can get to God but through our Lord Jesus.
1 Corinthians 15 : 45-49.
“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”
The first man was made a living soul; the last man was made a quickening spirit. Jesus was made a quickening spirit when He resurrected. Quickening spirits cannot sin.
God wants men to come to Him. The knowledge of truth is the knowledge of quickening spirits. Nothing is truth if it’s not quickening: “As the Father quickens, so has he given the Son to quicken…”.
The realm of God is called the “order of the quickening”. The word “quickening” has many things attached to it. God gives life, but He’s more than that. God calls the things that be not as though they were; that’s not all He does. “Are they not all ministering spirits…?” (Heb. 1:14). Angels can only do their work of ministering; A quickening spirit can do beyond that. When God is ministering, He’s also quickening.
“Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.”
This scripture shows us cherubs. Psalm 104 says “He maketh His angels spirits”. Cherubs are the angels referred to as spirits; they were made spirits.
Man has a soul and lives in a body. The summary of his spirit, soul and body is that he (man) was a living soul. The first man was a living soul.
“Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.”
Seraphims are His ministers; they are referred to as flames. They are not living souls. In heaven, you acquire a different property and nature. We have spirits and we have flames; God was the one who made one flames and the other spirits. Jesus was made little lower than the angels. If He a were a quickening spirit on earth, it would have been difficult to drive nails into His body. As a living soul, Jesus had to give up Himself; no man could kill Him; He had to surrender. If Elijah and Enoch could leave, to Jesus, the passage to Heaven should have been easy. Jesus tried to reverse the order to see if there was any other way the job could be done. “Can we solve man’s problem outside Me dying?” That was the prayer Jesus muttered in the garden.
At the garden of Gethsemane while he was praying, He was willing to change will. He wasn’t disobedient or stubborn; He only approached the Father to see if there was another way apart from death; He didn’t want to die spiritually. Jesus said; “My soul is nigh unto death. I’m sorrowful…”
Jesus died to show me how my spirit, soul and body could attain the quickening oil. God raised Him from a man to a quickening order. What was said to Him at the end was “Your throne O God…” (Heb. 1:8); He had become “O God”; “O God” is not a man. God is not a man that He should lie; but this one (Jesus) was a man; the man Christ Jesus.
What scares me is that this man has fellows; meaning He must also raise some people into where He has come into. He is the High priest of raising many sons to glory. Glory is the quickening life. The quickening beings have promised to have men (many sons; many quickening beings). God’s desire has been ”They will be my people…I will live among them”. This hope is more than one billion dollars. If I give Pst. Clever 5,000dollars now, he’d kiss me all over and say, “Rev., you’re my father indeed”.
It takes some time to get people to God; the journey is a journey which no man can walk. No man could go up to God; no angel could bring God down; God had to come down from God; God would have been forever sealed if He didn’t make a way for us to get to Him. He came down to bring us there; He wasn’t us, but He became us; He was God. “In the beginning was the Word…”: The Word wasn’t a man; He is not even a spoken word like some people think; He’s God. He had been a being in eternity past. Imagine Elohim coming to talk to you. It’s mercy for Him to even come down and understand how you’re thinking. It takes humility for God to put up with thoughts like “God, all my friends are driving cars; what about me?”; yet He listens to you. He told Abraham, “I’m your exceeding great reward”: What was Abraham’s response?: Abraham said; “What do you do, seeing I go childless?” God didn’t get angry at that; He put up with it. How about Eleazar of Damascus?…May God help our hearts. Amen.
The blessing you need is not a child; rather it’s for your heart to rise. Imagine a dead man watching people cry, and then one of his sons comes to say “I’m giving you a car to drive”: Another brings a plane: Another, a new house; all for a dead man; these things mean nothing to that man.
Our soul is dead. There are things the dead ask for. Someone killed the soul and convinced him that he has needs. Abraham’s pattern of believing had to change; that’s the reason he was trained. The day you recognise the knowing of what you really need to get, you’ve understood your true state.
When God led Abraham, He was quickening his soul. The soul is full of ways. God needed to raise Abraham.
God breathed into man’s nostrils; the breath there is “Nafesh” which means “air”, “breath”, “oxygen”: “natural air”. Your “Nafesh” is your breath. God gave Adam a natural breath not His own breath; but Adam fell, and Satan tampered with that breath.
If you tell your soul to touch “Agbada”, it can’t; It’s your body that can. But when you wear your beautiful clothes, you’d know it’s not your just your body wearing it alone; the soul wants it. It’s the soul that looks up with high brows when cutely clothed.
When soul begins to enter cars, there’s trouble. Apostle John said he saw some souls are on the altar in heaven, but I tell you, some souls are living in limousines. Honestly speaking, when you go to the market, you’d see some souls living there; even after the market has closed. Wherever your treasure is, that’s where your heart is (Matt. 6:21). God is complaining; it’s only a few souls that are in heaven.
One Jos man who lived in Los Angeles for a long time met another Jos man; he said to the man; “We’re going to die here. If it’s death that will take me back, then so be it”. The man refused to come back to Nigeria.
God wants to push the soul by the spirit man…Why are we using churches? The church is to quicken the soul to come up. The soul will go up. Anytime God appears to you and He gives you natural things, He wants to move you up. Some souls run away after getting these things from God and go on to enjoy. They drive God away by saying “Don’t bring another wind to take me somewhere else; I love it here”. May we go up.
The warfare is a warfare of changing states. The reason we desire the abode of sin is because of the fear of death. ‘Death’ isn’t having to die physically; Death is a life; How?; It’s another way of life.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”
These people in the scripture above feared not their lives even unto death. Sin is hope; we have to be careful what hope is painted to us. I can preach sin from the Bible and not know what I’m doing, except God comes to help me to stop. I can paint different hopes without painting the hope of eternal life. Think of something dear to you that you love to protect; you have to be careful with it.
1 John 5:21
“Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen”
Idols are lives. What is blocking children?; Idols!
“And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil”
Some people are running from this message because it preaches that you shouldn’t hold natural riches dear; even though they don’t have anything to be called riches. Yet, some people have money in the natural and are embracing this message. This tells you that people are rich not just in money, but in other different things.
“Children”, in the scripture above, are children of the kingdom who can be brought to glory; those who can be raised by God. God is retraining people to come to Him, and hold the glorious life.
The wages of sin is death; not the wages of fornication. The wages of a futile hope is death.
“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death”
Jesus is at the right hand of the majesty on high, wanting to retrain us from death to life; to have ability to handle life and reject the destroyed life. Before Jesus came, sin had entered into men’s hearts; sin had captured man; the blood of man had inherited the genes of sin. Man is living in sin and is using sin to live. To use sin to live is to use the power of Satan to live. To use sin to live is me using my ability to live; to think out solution for my life. See the danger: I can be taught “Live, Envisage, Plan, Bring it to pass (Motivation), and I use them and succeed; It will work; darkness works.
Anything done on a man that makes him not responsive enough to quicken his soul, is sin. What sin does is for you to neglect your state, and then involve you in labour. Sin tells you; “Don’t live in your soul; cut off God”. Sin barricades you from seeing life, and gives you access to external life. Sin will tell you that you can live any life, as far as your soul isn’t living God’s life.
Satan is breaking into pentecostal churches to stop the life of God from entering men’s souls. He knows men there will one day cling unto life. He’s afraid that leaving you with the pentecostal flow will make you jam the message of life soon enough. For example: Pst. Kumuyi’s message is so sincere; you won’t catch him preaching excessively. Some ministers use their lives to preach philanthropism, but nothing is happening to souls in overcoming death.
If you’re a poor man, and you die poor, with your soul being saved, you are great!; you died fulfilled. This is how you’d be, and unbelievers would begin to trust you with things. You will reap where you’ve not sown because you’re walking with God. To Abraham, all things were added to him.
Epistles make you forget to ask God for money. I was so involved in reading the Epistles, that I forgot how to ask for money. In the epistles, God is more interested in saving you.
As a child, you won’t come to glory until you’ve been delivered.
“And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage”
Don’t fear or take any thought for your life; don’t boil your blood for nothing. There’s still some fear in you. You should be so dead to death; You should die! “I want to get there”; to the place of dying to my needs. I’ve not got there yet; but it’s the quickening order God is raising me to. When you’re dead totally, God will raise you up. When you’re dead, that’s when God will bring you a car. Jesus waited for Lazarus to die; He didn’t heal his sick body so that the glory of God be known. We can’t enter God’s glory till we die out of the life in us; that life in us has to go.
Fear of death! Fear! Death! It’s the fear of my life that’s separating me from God. I’m dying because a life in me constantly kills me. This life has its own intelligence; it drives me far from God by its fear; this fear is louder than the preacher’s voice.
Some pulpits are dangerous. You go to some places, dead in a measure, but as the man at the pulpit begins to minister to you, he begins to resurrect the death in you, and you begin planning how your future will be; taking thoughts for your life. Don’t be found among the dead; congregate with the living.
It’s degree by degree: time will come that I won’t answer the calling of death, but life-calls, by faith. It’s the Father’s call for us to come near; and it’s life to the soul. When peace is there, continue. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Phil 4:8).
“Think on these things” means you should take thoughts that are heavenly. The thoughts of God are high. Jesus came into a stature; He moved out of death and defeated death with His walk. He destroyed Him that has the power of death. You can tell death that he’s destroyed, by walking in the victory in which he (death) was destroyed. Step into the zone of the destruction of death; that’s how you enter the holy of holies.
The Lord won’t give you rest till you’ve rested. To believe is to rest in His words; it’s you not being moved by thoughts.
“Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment”
“But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him”
We won’t enter into glory with an iota of death thought; Heaven will discipline us, till we come in fully. It’s a blessing to learn this now; before you get married and have kids. Your kids will never pass through what you did; because of this life, they’ll be overcomers; and they will easily overcome. I’m not saying you won’t marry or give birth physically because you’re a quickening spirit; you’ll marry. It’s not a sin to marry. There are all sorts of errors waiting for us, but we will escape them; You’ll do what men are doing and yet live saved. Some of you will also be Eunuchs for the kingdom’s sake.
Anytime fear is present, death is by the corner.
“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God”
“And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase”
Flock are souls. The sheep is the soul. In the scripture, they’ve been driven by God into far countries because their shepherds are dangerous. God will drive such a flock further because their shepherds are scattering the fold. The word coming is programmed by Satan. Many shepherds are still sinners. The flock is supposed to meet the master. Many people gather; God is the one who allows them to gather. He makes sure they are not serious or committed to some gatherings so that they won’t be tied to listening to poison; but then when the ground is safe, God would gather them from these far countries.
“And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD”
“They shall fear no more”: Jesus is the high priest of good things to come. “Fear” in this scripture is the fear of death. You’ll fear no more because you’re gradually overcoming. God will still do so much more. You’ll fear no death threat. There are some death threats that still make us misbehave, but God is going down to their roots to deal with them.
The essence of feeding is to be fulfilled. Having no lack as quoted in that scripture is to have stature. When we’re no longer lacking, we’ll fear no more [“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1)]. [“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:4)].
The shepherdic calling is great. A shepherd is to feed the people till they lack no more. If you can’t, take the people to a place where they can feed well; a place where the word of truth is rightly divided. You have to know how to use the sword to divide. The sheep eat by dividing their meals; that’s the same way souls feed too. Each food kills fear. Some meals are not meals. A shepherd that hasn’t overcome death can’t lead the sheep to the place of “no lack”.
At the outer court, I’m lacking; even in the holy place too. When I’m a three storey building (Outer court, Holy place and Holy of holies), I will be able to deal with death. These courts are realms of faith [“…from faith to faith…”(Rom. 1:17)]. The faith in the outer court is resurrected faith, while the faith in the Holy place culminates into the love of God.
What Jesus is building against death are the keys of death and hell. He has keys, and as He uses those keys, death is detonated. Each meal remains. You inherit the meal which becomes your stature. Until death is totally dealt with in you, you can’t become a building that can deal with death. No building can deal with death except a priestly house. It’s a priest that is an answer to death. The result of the overcoming of sin and death is that a man comes into the stature of a priest. The priestly stature is that of resurrection; that’s the house God is building; the stature of resurrection.
Resurrection is that which is beyond death. When I’m learning the stature of that which is beyond death, I fetch knowledge from life and I use it. What Jesus is saying to me is resurrection. He’s teaching me newness of life as against that which is old. He’s teaching me Eternal life as against that which is old.
