Faith measurement

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Apart from John 3:16, the definition of faith seem to be known and read by a vast majority, yet only a few really come into the reality of the faith life.

Many just see faith as a tool to amass wealth, or an instrument to get things from God. Others see faith as a tool to fight back and against oppositions. Faith is bigger than that. It is a life. It is the totality of the salvation life.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

Abram was instructed by God to leave his family and his familiar terrain to start a new race of people who will live different from the way man has been conditioned to live. He took a giant step of faith and obeyed. Faith is measured by obedience to what God says not what you decided to do.

In obedience, Abraham left all to gain One. He did not mind all he had just to gain all he never had. We like to use faith to acquire many things at the very expense of the one thing that matters, God.

Abraham found out one important lesson of life passed from Abel to Enoch and to Noah. He explored and developed it. He walked fully in it until he became the father of it. It us Faith.

At ninety-nine, how easy can it be to circumcise yourself and the whole of your household? Never easy I suppose. Even when he had produced a child already, how did God let him believe that was not the promised child and he expecting the promise child? Yet he went ahead into circumcising himself unto hope for the coming child. Faith explorations.

The just shall live by faith. Faith is holding on to God to the end in spite of whatever may be perceived wrong. God says to you, “He will not have pleasure in you if draw back.” Faith is following to the end. Faith is unending trust in God. Faith is surrender to God.

Romans 4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?

He found Faith and lived according to Faith. Live by faith and you will surely live.
