Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord , my strength, and my redeemer.

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (Philippians 4:8).” NLT

It is quite easier to find fault with the words spoken out than the unspoken word. And it’s even more easier to polish the words we speak and make them look good before people avoiding to speak slanderous words than the thoughts that goes on in our heart.

Many have perfected the art of speaking such that they would never say any vulgar with their mouth but what is going on in their minds can sink a whole nation. We need the Lord to help us tame and put to subjection the meditations of our heart and not just the outspoken words.

Psalm 119:97, 99 O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.

We need to refocus and channel our thoughts and meditations towards the Lord, thinking about the word of the Lord or the promises of the Lord such that all our lives become engulfed with them. Our meditation will affect our reasoning. Our reasoning will affect our actions.

To believe right is to live right. Right believing is right living.

When your meditation is not right, your understanding will be shallow. When your understanding is right, you will come to a place of superior understanding. The Psalmist said “I have more understanding than my teachers because the testimonies of the Lord are his meditations. What do you give your heart to? We act like and become the thoughts of heart so it’s important we fill our hearts with some good thoughts.

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

The sequence is still the same. The word of the Lord must be in our mouth. We must not speak evil whether knowingly or unconsciously. Our meditations also must be subject to the word of God. We need to be filled with the word in and out such that we have the right word to combat any situation. Then we must learn to do the word. We must learn to live according to the word. Our daily interactions must reveal the word of God such that if anybody scratches us, what will come out is the word of God.

Then, you can be guaranteed of good success in life. Not just in money or riches but in a better quality of life and impact. Jesus never needed to bless anybody with money, but every of His words are ladened with power and authority. You want to become a man of authority? Then you must subject your words and meditations to being acceptable before the Lord.

Have a blessed day.
