Psalm 32:8-9 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
As a son, three things are important for our growth and success in life. They are;
2. Teachings, and
Anyone who lacks any of these three lacks vital element of growth and success. Life is product of these three. Also, anyone who lags in receiving any of these three will find it difficult moving from one level to the other.
The Lord desires above all things to instruct us on a daily basis and that’s why we needed the Holy Spirit who lives and abides with us always. He is suppose to lead us through daily instructions, dispensing to us dosage of the word of God that is able to keep us going.
The reason why we must study our bible on a regular basis is not just because we want to preach or teach others but to get basic instructions for our daily living, hence, the need to read it every day, every time.
Every man is built according to the instructions he has obeyed. A doctor is a medical practitioner because he/she has learned and obeyed many instructions right from the teaching school to the practicing profession. If he fails in any of the instructions, he might not be allowed to practice. So also is a lawyer.
We also need to take God’s instructions for us very seriously, and to obey them as the Lord gives us grace.
We need to give ourselves to being taught of God. Many of us despise teachings. We are not meek enough to submit ourselves to teachings. We assume to know too much that we tend to despise certain teachings of the Lord. We regard such teachings as to low for our need. An assumption that leaves us naked and open to the wiles of the devil. No matter how knowledgeable we may be, we need to submit to being taught of God and men of God.
How often do we listen to messages? How often do we allow God teach us from the bible and show us new things from the scriptures? How often are we willing to discard what we used to know for what God is trying to show us? The problem of the Pharisees and Sadducees was that they knew too much that they chose not to believe or accept what Jesus was saying and teaching.
With these instructions and teachings, we also need guidance. We need the Lord to hold us in His hands and lead us to places. To lead also means to guide. He alone can lead us on the path of righteousness. We are like the blind that needed to be guided through life. Unfortunately, many submit themselves to be guided by the blind and that’s calamity in waiting.
John 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will GUIDE you into all truth:…”
Therefore if one is lacking in these three, he will be like a horse that is without understanding whose mouth they need to hold with bit and bridle. This is what it means, God needs to silence such person. Shut his mouth from expressing guile. God will by mercy need to use circumstances to silence a man without understanding and shut him down leaving him to only use his physical strength and then such person will struggle through life.
We need to be instructed of God, taught by Jesus Christ to know the way to life, and guided by Holy Spirit which is God’s eyes, that we may have understanding.
God bless you.
