Genesis 30:5,6 And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son. And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.

Rachel having discovered that God had delayed her in childbirth sought to have a child at all cost. She felt discomforts from the fact that her elder sister had given birth to four sons while she was waiting to get one. She swung into jealousy and fought her husband just to have that child she desired so much.

Like Rachel, like most of us. We know that certain delays we face in life were the handiwork of God to take us through right process in life. We know we are special people loved by God, created to do special things in life, hence we need go through special dealings so as to build us well fortified.

Yet, as we see our colleagues in life move very fast in life, they seem to be doing well while we have nothing to show for all our efforts, we simply jump into jealousy and strive hoping that in doing that we will live a better life. We wake up daily to raise lamentations unto God, we seem frustrated everytime someone around us achieves something good.

And because of these, we have tried to subtly buy our way to achieving our desires. We compromise standards just to make sure we also compete favourably with our peers and competitors. We just want it at all means by whatever way it may come.

Let me announce to you that such achievement will be a judgement tool in the hands of God against you. God may allow that thong come to pass but you may never derive joy in it. It’s far better to wait for God and find lasting fulfillment that to rush yourself into what seem like success only to find out that you have shot yourself on the leg.

Psalms 37:7  Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

It’s better to rest in the Lord than to pursue success at all cost. Let not all you achieve become a snare to you. Be wise.

God bless you.
