Genesis 29:34 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.

Here, we see the third son of Leah born unto Jacob named Levi, which means ‘joined or attached’. Obviously God was sending a message to Leah for her to attach herself to Him, but she misinterpreted the message to her situation saying ‘my husband will be joined to me.’

All that God gives us is not meant for us to be attached to them but to should draw us to God. Many atimes, God desires us to be attached to Him, but we are usually attached to other things. He wants us to have a solidified relationship with where we become immovable and inseparable from His love.

God is calling us to be separated from the world and be joined to His word.

He provided that job for you so you can get closer to Him, but you got more attached to your job and it’s even taking you away from God. You even give excuses of being too busy at work and that’s why you’ve been far from Him.

God gave you that admission so you get appreciate Him, then commit yourself to serving Him more for that was your promise to Him, but now, you devoted more time to that studies than to God. You’ve loved the school work more than you love God. You are now joined to your academics rather than God.

God gave you that spouse so you can move closer to Him. That was the agreement. Rather, the relationship has taken you away from God and you’re not even finding joy there. The reason is because God wants you to be attached to Him more, but you gave yourself to other attachments.

God gave you children so you can love Him more and be more attached to Him, yet we find these children as good excuses to be separate from God. Our attentions are no more on God but these children. And somehow, it looks like something is missing, yes, your relationship with God is the missing link.

All that God gives us should draw us closer to Him, unfortunately, they draw us away from Him. Your phone, money, car, work, spouse, house, school, church, friends, business, etc are suppose to bring you closer to God, making you attached to the provider of life, but we become more responsive to the provisions, to these things that will fade away with the using.

It’s time we refocused our attention. It’s time we reattached ourselves to God rather than the things God made. Don’t be like they “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature(things created) more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” Rom.1:25.

God bless you as you refocus your passion and attachments. Stop using the things God blessed you with as excuses not to be closer to God. God wants you attached and glued to Him all the rest of your life. Remain blessed. Have a blessed day.
