2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Everyday of our lives, people rob us on the wrong edge. People deliberately or unintentionally offend and hurt us. We face many affronts and oppositions from people we least expect. And somehow, we pick offence, dispense faults and fight back with claims to our rights. Whether we are right or not, we need to follow peace with all men, no matter who they are, what they did, and how crazy they may seem. Yes, follow peace with all.

The instructions to us are very explicit and direct. As much as we want to grow in life, we need to obey these instructions. Proverbs 4:13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

Flee youthful lust.
As youths, growing to learn certain things in life, we are sometimes caught in the web of our desires and urges. The biggest weapon of the youth is their strength, yet we must note that it can be wrongfully geared. There is high possibilities of directing that strength to the wrong places, hence, the need to refocus that instrument of strength to the right channel. Flee all youthful lust. It’s not limited to sex or immorality, it also involves desires for wrong things in life. Therefore, to grow well as a youth, you need to flee all youthful lust.

To follow also means to be deeply connected to something or someone such that your life is dependent on them. What are we to follow?

Just like it was written concerning Jesus Christ, ‘He loved righteousness and hated wickedness’, therefore God exalted Him. If you want God to exalt you, then you have to love righteousness and depart from iniquity. To be exalted in life, then we must follow Righteousness for “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” Prov.14:34.

Many of us view faith as a tool to scoop all you ever desire from God. Many see faith as an empowerment tool to riches and wealth, and all we imagine about faith is trusting God for a good life. Yes, God is faithful to do all that, yet, faith is deeper than all that.

Faith is a life. Faith is a way of life without which no man can please God. To please God means to be in tune with God. Faith is a builder of life. Any man that cannot live according to faith is not a just man “for the just shall live by faith”.

Therefore, as one growing in the way of the Lord, we must endeavor to live by faith, live according to faith, and live in the faith. If you must grow well in life, then faith is an essential tool for growth.

Somehow everyone talks about love, yet we see that only a few have really come into the understanding of the concept of love. Love is deeper and much more meaningful that the emotions we share with each other. Love, like faith is a life.

God expects us to love beyond our natural capacity to love. Love should not be attached to conditionalities, we must and need to love beyond certain criterion or qualifications.

See how God loved us and gave us all He had, that’s the Son. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

If you must love, let it not just be in words, let it also be in deeds. Be willing to go all out to inconvenient yourself so as to make others convenient. That’s love.

The world cannot define peace because the world doesn’t know peace. God expects us to follow peace with all men. This means, show the world the peace they lack. You find out that many people walking on the street, roadsides, motorways are kinda aggressive. There is this aggression and frustration on people and they are almost willing to transfer it or release it on anybody.

But as a believer, we are not expected to trade likes for likes…. Don’t repay evil with evil. Always ensure that you show peace to all. Just like Jesus said and did, John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Let everyone who encounters us leave with peace. Peace is essential to right living. Follow peace with all.

If we do not live according to these instructions, we will not see God. To see God means to have a communion with God. Therefore, follow Righteousness, faith, love and peace with all men. God bless you.
