Psalms 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Many a times, we find out that certain thoughts flow through our heart and somehow, they seem ungodly and unholy. The thoughts take us over until we come out of that conciousness.
Our thoughts are very powerful. They are also very fast, atimes faster than us. We would have reasoned in certain ways before we come back to our senses. They seem to be a flaw to our living rightly.
To define a man, check out the thoughts of His heart. Evil men think evil always. Righteous men take thoughts about righteousness always. Therefore the scripture says in Proverbs 23:7 that “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he….”
We need to tame our thoughts and bring them in total obedience and submission to God. We cannot afford to let loose our thought because they connect us to our future. You are a product of your thought.
Vain people imagine vain things.
To be vain means to amount to nothing. A popular mathematical solution say “any number multiplied by zero equals zero”.
The life of a vain man no matter how fanciful and attractive it might seem will amount to nothing.
Don’t be vain in your thoughts. Vain people are ungodly. They see themselves rather than see God. They exalt self more than they exalt God. They depend on self rather than depend of God.
Bring your thoughts in subjection.
2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
We need to learn to bring our thoughts and imaginations into the obedience of Christ that is, they must be submitted totally to Christ. We must make sure our thoughts are checked in conformity.
This is one way we can achiev that, we must marry your thoughts with the word of God. Always put your thoughts in check through the word of God.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Guide your heart with all diligence. Make sure negative thoughts do not stay unchecked. Always think scripturally, it’s safe.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Phil. 4:8.
God bless your thoughts. God bless you.
