Psalm 95:7-8 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness.

Many of us have learnt how to talk to God in prayer and many of us have even perfected the act of prayer. Yet, what remains unsettled is whether God replies us or not. We have issues HEARING God speak to us. Many complain and ask ‘how can I hear God?’

The challenge here is not the hearing, but the believing and the eventual obedience. God has spoken to us a number of times as frequent as possible, yet many have not yet believed it’s God speaking. We despise the voice, continue with our natural activities, keep obtaining results in life by trials and error, struggle with certain things and then we complain that God has been silent about all that’s happening to us.

God speaks louder than our next door neighbour. Ironically, His voice is more gentle than the man sitting beside you, yet it is resounding. What you need do is be calm, anticipate hearing from Him just the same way you expect a call from your spouse, believe He’ll speak and when He speaks, do your diligence to obey His voice.

Samuel heard His voice and supposed it was Eli calling. And the voice kept coming until he was rightly taught to listen well. So also with you. You have supposed the wrong person talking to you many times. But God is patient. He is still trying to reach you.

God has many things to say to you. He doesn’t want to talk to you through a medium. He wants to have a direct reach to you. Your pastor, KPN, and other devotionals ought to lead and help you hear God by yourself, not hear for you. Hebrew 1:1-3

When you pray, wait on Him to hear what He will say and when He speaks, obey His voice. Harden not your heart. His words make and build us. God bless you this day as you receive and Obey His voice.
