Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

One of the most difficult thing to do is to rest. People find it easier to labour and work rather than rest and cease from all labour. The way the world is structured doesn’t even encourage rest.

People toil from morning to night seeking what to eat, wear, and a shelter for themselves, they wake up weak and unhappy only to sleep very tired and exhausted.

People have been tutored to labour now so they can rest later only to find out that there is ever no time to rest at all. Even at the old age, when they seem to have all they ever desired, to rest becomes almost impossible. Labour is increased.

The strength of man will only produce labour and stress. The strength of God will definitely produce Favour and Rest. And until we learn to rest in God, we will never come into rest.

Nothing is ever enough. No level is ever sufficient. The demands of life are too enormous that one will keep labouring and will never find rest.

The Psalmist has this to say, “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep(rest).” Ps. 127:2. All the labour of man will amount to nothing until he learns to rest in the Lord.

The Lord says to you this month, BE STILL.
This rest we talk about relates to God’s Rest. Rest in the Lord. Rest from all your works. Let the Lord inspire your heart to rest in Grace. Have a blessed day.
