Esther 2:15 Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.
The life of Esther has been one of the most fascinating story in the scripture. Not just that she lived in faith, she also lived in obedience. Obedience not just to the king but also to the king’s chamberlain. Many pray for favour like Esther had received yet not many have taken time to study how Esther obtained that status of favour. Of the women in preparation for the king, only Esther obeyed the king’s chamberlain. Others did what they liked, planned their own moves, tried to manipulate the king to seduction, ate good foods to induce favouritism, wore good cloths to appear pleasant and gorgeous so as to get the king to fall in love, yet the king was not pleased by all that. Works do not please the king but total obedience in faith to the king’s chamberlain.
The heart and the mind of the king needed be pleased before the king can show favour, yet all attempts to discover it by efforts usually will prove abortive. Until we learn to listen and obey the voice of the king’s chamberlain, the Holy Ghost, the one who prepares us for the coming of the groom, we will never please the king hence, we will never find favour with the king. 1 Cor. 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
As many as are led…. Romans 8:14
This scripture is golden to me because it’s the scripture that shows us how to become the sons of God. Until we totally submit ourselves to the leading of the Holy Ghost, we might never please the Father. He is the one to lead and guide us on the way, into all truth and so we will end in life. The king’s chamberlain has all the information relating to the king and without him, we will just keep trying to do so many things, yet none will amount to success. Many try to please God by observing many churchy activities, yet it amounts to nothing. Until we learn to listen and obey the Spirit of the Lord, we will not please the Lord.
Esther 2:17 And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.
To obtain Grace and favour is to come into grace and peace. It was a constant and continuous prayer of the apostle, that grace and peace be multiplied to us. If we do not come into grace and peace, we will never obtain the king’s favour.
I pray that you will be empowered to obey the leading of the Holy Ghost so that you can come into grace and favour in the sight of the Lord. Amen.
