Luke 1:78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

We are all products of God’s tender mercy. Mercy visited the earth and brought man into salvation. Salvation relates to three experiences:
1. Redemption from death,
2. Deliverance from pathway to destruction,and
3. Perfect healing.

To be in salvation is to dwell is perfect safety and this salvation was given to man by the tender mercies of God. Man has been locked in the bounds of darkness since the fall of Adam. Man opened his eyes into another world/life ruled by darkness. Darkness produces fear and shame. Fear binds people in the chains of death. So, the arising of the DAYSPRING (remember Gen.1:3, ‘and God said “let there be light….”).

That light is not the light of the sun nor is it that of the moon. It’s the light of the SON, that lights up the whole earth. John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. But man fell into darkness ruled by the light of the sun and that of the moon. Jesus as the light of the world has therefore arisen to light up the whole earth again, to light up as many as will come to Him. The dayspring has visited us and two things He will do;

“To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death”
One may wonder what it means to sit in darkness. It means to find comfort in the life ruled by darkness. Darkness is a way of life, a manner of thought and reasoning, a judgement parameter. Christ has come to deliver man from finding solace in darkness. Unfortunately, scripture say men loved darkness rather than light. Many chose the way of the dark and sat there(found life convenient there), that’s condemnation. John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Also, because of finding comfort in darkness, many have been held bound by the powers of darkness. Christ also came to give light to them that are in the shadows of death. Darkness binds people in death. Heb.2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Deliverance has come and still coming the way of many who desires to the light of Christ. Light shines by the instrumentation of the word. Ps. 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

“to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
There is a way of peace. There is a way where there is no fear. There is a way where everyone is in absolute safety. Peace is a product of absolute safety. No man will experience peace if he still sits in darkness or walks in the shadow of death. They are fearful and dreadful places. They bind people in great fear. Christ wants to lead us on the way of peace that we may dwell in perfect safety. Once we choose to follow Him, He’ll lead us back to the Father where there is absolute peace. There is no peace anywhere in the world. The world has never and will never experience peace. Job says man was born into calamity. It simply means man born after the order of Adam will never experience peace. But here comes Jesus, the prince of peace. He said to us “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:26. Follow Jesus and He’ll lead you on the path of Peace.
God bless you.
