Light represents judgement. What is the root of our judgement? What informs our judgement? Why do we act the way we do?

Life is about light. Life bubbles when there is light. There is strength when there is light. When it’s dark, we naturally know it’s time to sleep. But this sleeping time is a very important time for the thieves and the enemy.

The enemy steals at the thick of the night when the owner is less vigilant. The enemy spoils and destroys things at that time too. Jesus made an analogy with these two events saying: “But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.” (Matthew 24:43).
“But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.” (Matthew 13:25).

So Jesus in offering a solution, Jesus tells us to Watch and pray….. Be vigilant He also told us.

The world tries to sell comfort to us through all its ways and systems so that we can become ‘comfortable’ then become sleepers. And by so doing, sow lots of corruption into our lives, after which they will steal away all the goodies we have in us.

They will steal your peace, by creating fear of wants. They will show you things, just to steal away your joy. Your rest is being stolen at the expense of one pursuit of the other. All inventions and innovations are jeered at making man more comfortable here on earth, yet they spell doom for that man. It’s the concept of the taskmaster, putting more burden on the workers at a promise of food, clothing, shelther, etc.

Many are distracted by the technologies in the world and by so, have lost touch with scripture realities. They’ve become sleepers and their minds have been eroded with so much weight of corruptions and evil standards. Men cannot successfully relate with their God again, the use of medium is preferred. I also said this to the shame of all who are technology crazy, fashion freak, television driven and so on.

I wish to establish here that except we keep our guards one more time, we will wake up sometime later and discover we are positioned on the laps of Delilah. The lap of Delilah is a position and not just an event. Delilah offers temporal comfort at the expense of one’s life. Delilah is a momentary enjoyment of life that weakens one and turns a person into a mockery.

It is summed up as the Love of the world. No man can love the world and love God. It is absolutely impossicant(pardon my usage). Jesus told us it is not impossible to serve two masters, you’ll love one at the expense of the other.

I hear my people say ‘I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me’ but I ask, will Jesus empower you to love the world? No. Sadly, that’s what many churches empower their members to do. Prayer Points are skillfully and technically developed to engineer people to become lovers of the world.

The people therefore come to church to learn how to skillfully pursue the world hence, rather than raising a godly people, they end up raising a greedy people. Rather than raise a people content with what they have, they raise a people who are never satisfied with what they have.

And more unfortunate is the fact that, the sermons/messages they hear from their church empower them to be carnally geared than being spiritually accentuated.

So, awake all you that slumber. A little sleep, a little slumber, so shall thy poverty comes. Don’t be quick to think you know what that means, it also relates to them who by the love of darkness have become sleepers.

The Darkness is also a type of light that cripples people walking in the real light. It turns the people into beggars and they seek weak and beggarly elements of this world.

When you love this world, you love darkness. For “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” (Genesis 1:2).

Except we are in the light created by God on the first day, we cannot be free from these darkness. Note, this light here wasn’t the sun nor the moon. It is the glory of God that shined upon the earth and this is the light that men ought to walk and live by.

Man has now been reduced to the light of the sun and of the moon(natural phenomenon). Let me also remind you that both the sun and the moon will soon pack off. The world will be folded together like a cloth. In the kingdom, there is not sun nor moon, what lights us is the glory of the ‘Son’.

When man fell, they were reduced to living by the light of the sun and that of the moon. They became naked, the glory of God was gone away from them, having been covered by that glory since their creation. So also they that pursue this world, they will just wake up to discover their nakedness.

Samson for many times woke up to be strong and defeats his enemies until….. Don’t be in that position.

Let me also remind you on this scripture, John 1:4,5, 9 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not…. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Except a man walks by this light, he walks in darkness. You would say but does it mean that many walk in darkness? Yes. Many walk and live in darkness without knowing.

Remember this prophesy, Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The world lives in the dark. They are bound by the dark and until you turn to Christ, you are also in the dark.

So, as much as God is helping us to learn more of Him, we must not keep running after the world in search of the things of the world. Were these not what Jesus was tempted with and did not fall?

Are these not the same things we are pursuing without even being tempted? How I wish someone will turn back and seek the true light?
It’s dangerous to keep strolling and straying away in the dark, the thieves are there. And we know that ‘the thief comes not to steal alone, but to also kill and destroy.’ Don’t be destroyed, or rather, don’t destroy yourself.

You’ve not gone too far. Demas went too far. He was born again and I believe was still born again when Paul said of him, “For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world,…”but you know, another love has enraged him. God issues a call to you today “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. “(Revelation 2:4-5). Wish we can repent and wake up from our slumber and sleep. Take hold of God’s light again. God bless you and keep you. Amen.
