Zach. 1:3 Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.

2 Cor. 3:16-17 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

There is a call from God to you and I today, it’s a call to return unto the Lord. One may ask, but I’m a child of God, how then do I return to God again seeing I have been born again?

It’s true you are a child of God and truly you are born again. But I choose to ask, how many times have you obeyed His instructions. The way to know a good child is how much the child obeys the instruction of his Father.

Often times, we run our lives not according to His words, but according to our intelligence. Our life is being run by the world we live in. We are not of this world though we live in this world, so, our lives ought not subject itself to the principles running this world.

We need to live daily according to His instructions. His word is His instruction. His instruction is His will. His will is His way. His way is Righteousness. This was said about Jesus, He loved righteousness and hated iniquity….

Iniquity is a life seeking sustenance outside God. A life aiming to live independent of God. A life chasing after many things that are not a product of God’s instructions. A life run by carnal minds and judgement.

Being carnal is living according to what your body dictates to you. Being carnal is living in the principle of worldliness. Being carnal is living a life not according to the direction and leadership of the Holy Ghost, but concluding on living life as you deem fit.

It’s time we turned unto God. It’s time we returned unto God. We must come out of the worldliness that runs our daily lives. We need to step out of our worldly pursuit into a Godly pursuit.

Godliness with contentment is great gain. Someone might say, contentment is subjective, it’s dependent on the individual involved. It’s true when defined outside godliness.
What births contentment is godliness. Without Godliness, there can never be contentment. Humans are seekers. No one is ever satisfied with anything or any place or any position.

There is always a quest to explore, to seek more, to know more, to get to the end of something. There is always and always would be a void that cannot be filled by anything but God. So in an attempt for many to fill this void without God, they kept on exploring. That’s sin.

Satan was the originator of such life. He came to a point where he became unsatisfied with the highest position of the angelic order, he desired to be more….more than the God who made him, more than the King who rules over him, more than the One that has all the power in heaven, on earth, above the heavens and under the earth.

Man also was introduced to such life by the devil, and so man embraced it. Although Adam was not deceived, yet he allowed the flow of sin which Eve has allowed, he didn’t stop it. Eve wanted more…

A desire to be wise, a desire to be like God(although she was made like God), a desire to know good apart from evil. Such is the basis of deception and the life of iniquity.

Adam discontinued this life, but Cain walked fully in it. He really explored it and it gave him more worldly success, he built a city. He created a way in the spirit called the way of Cain.

Remember God instructing him, ‘sin lies at your door, but master it(take dominion over it, lay it aside, put it in the place where it ought to be, nip it in the bud, kill it) before it takes you over’.

Did he heed to God? No. He continued such life and built a city, a city not built by God. And basically, that’s our pursuit….

I submit to you today that God requires that you turn unto him. Stop going the way of Cain. Cain is murderer, a man of iniquity. Any achievement not birthed in God is evil. Any pursuit not designed by God is iniquity.

That was what Jesus hated. He hated the life built on self-achievement. The world talks about self-actualization, God talks about what He’s laid in your heart to do. What should run our lives is the WILL of God.

Whatsoever He tell me to do, I will do. Thy Will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. We must live in sync with heaven. Our live must be heaven dependent. We cannot afford to live independent of God, it’s iniquity. It’s ungodly.

Hosea 6:1-3 Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

The Lord bless you with a heart that can turn unto Him. When you hear His voice, harden not your heart as the day of provocation, turn to Him and be saved. There is a wrath to come upon man, only they who are under the name of Jesus will be saved. Come to Jesus. Return to the Lord. Stay blessed.
