“Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.” (Ruth 1:1).

Good morning,
How strange is it that the people of God, ordained and called to praise God’s name turn away from living in the land praise to join themselves with Idol worshippers? How disappointing and devastating is it to see children of the most high God who were predestestined to live as lively stones, giving praise to the Almighty God, turn back to the worldly lust and shameful idolatry?
We are a people called to live a life continued praise unto God, yet, because of a seeming lack or dryness, we choose to sojourn in a strange land, serving strange god, and living srange lives.
This man took counsel with his family to sojourn in Moab. To sojourn means to live in a place temporarily so as to make money, then save more money in promise to return back to your original place with that money. It also means to turn aside from the road. That seems to be the easy way out, says the devil, but it’s treacherous. It’s a way of death. The Lord has called you to walk of the path of righteousness, don’t turn away from that path unto the way that ends up in death. Like Job’s wife said, “Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.” (Job 2:9).
It’s easy to say I am a child of God, yet we live temporarily outside the will of God in a promise to make ends meet and in a promise to use the earned resources to further God’s kingdom. No! Death looms. You just cursed God. Don’t leave the land of praise. It might look like God’s will is taking a lot of time to bring yields, wait for it. Be patient. Don’t seek the ways of the world. Let God instruct you. Don’t love the world. To love the world is to become God’s enemy. Stay with the Lord and let your life bring honour to Him. I’ld rather die serving God and bringing honour to His name without compromise, than live outside His will. His will is best for my life. God bless you.
