“Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehem-judah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.” Ruth 1:1.

Good morning, welcome to a new week of grace and truth, the peace of God keep and preserve you unto eternal life.
We’ll be considering the book of RUTH for the time being and we pray God help us to see the reality of His word and show us the Path of life in Jesus name.
Bethlehem means ‘Land of plenty’ or ‘land of abundance’. And Judah means ‘praise God’. So, Bethlehem-Judah literarily would mean a place where Praise is offered to God because of the abundant provisions of God. But quite unfortunately, there came a time when famine visited the land. One thing we must note here is, there are times when even in the massive and glorious provisions of God, we may experience times when it looks like we lack, times when it seems difficult to feed because of what the world calls lack. It mustn’t stop our praise to God. Many still praise God only because there is abundance, we ‘curse’ God when the flow stops. God isn’t good because we have abundance or have what we desired in the first place. God is good because He is good all the time. So, in abundance, God is good and deserves our praise. In seeming lack, God is good and deserves our praise. Once, the Lord told me that don’t always forget that “I’m the God of both the Rainy and Dry seasons. I remain God in spite of the changing seasons, and my goodness does not change with seasons”.
Seasons of life do not define God’s goodness, God is always Good and Faithful. Though seasons and times may change, God never changes with those times. So, our praise to Him must not be conditioned on the times of life. We must always, all the time offer praises unto Him even when all seems not well. Take a cue from that Shunammite woman whose son was dead yet said “all is well.” Was she lying? No. She just decided to speak faith.
Don’t stop praising God. Although what you want or desire has not been done, don’t ever stop the praise. God bless you.
