“For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.” (2 Samuel 7:27).
Blessed be God who has shown us grace and love to have taken us through this retraining exercise on prayers, helping us to see it as an activity born out our responding to God in love, because He has shown us grace. We pray in Faith because Faith produces Love(helping us to walk in Peace and Truth) and Grace(the underlining foundation upon which our salvation is built).
Prayer comes as a revelation of God’s intention to us and we also by faith agreeing with it first, then speaking them into reality.
“… for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.” (Romans 14:23).
Many atimes, the reason we cannot attain the level of communion expected of us in terms of prayer and all other aspect of our relating with God is because we are preoccupied with fear. Fear is a major limitation to our progress in fellowship with God. Fear speaks the problems rather than the solution. Fear magnifies the problem rather than justify the solution. In fear, we see only one thing, our iminent failure to deal with the situation resulting to loss eventually but Faith brings the solution into any problem or situation. The disciples in Matt. 8:23-27 prayed out of fear and Jesus spotted that. “…Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?….” (Matthew 8:26). The difference between Jesus and the disciples was the faith factor. Faith produces an inward peace that helps you initiate peace on the outside, eventually bringing peace upon any situation. A man of faith is not easily moved by the prevalent or present circumstances because he knows God is in charge and it is impossible for God to fail.
“…If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, …and nothing shall be impossible unto you. ” (Matthew 17:20).
“…With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26).
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”” (Mark 9:23).NKJV.
If you can just learn to trust on God more than you trust in your pastor, if you can just trust the Holy Ghost more than you trust in your mental ability, if you can just trust Jesus more than you trust the government or your church…. Grace and peace will be multiplied to you in Jesus name. Amen.
