“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1).
Our entire life is built on faith, hope and love. Our whole christian walk is built on faith, hope and love. We are called in hope, into hope in hope and so, faith is initiated in us that our hope may be established in the faith of the Son, after which God has shed abroad His love in our hearts by first giving us His Son out of love that we may be reconciled back to Him in love. All men believe because there is hope for something better in the future. So Faith is built on Hope, and Faith works by Love. This talks about a relationship. Love helps us to build relationship with God as we hope by faith in His infinite abilities to bring to pass what He has promised. Unfortunately, many do not serve God in love, but subject themselves to fear. One thing religion does is to yoke people under the bondage of fear wherewith they try to do everything they can to supposedly earn God’s love even when God has shown that in spite of who we are, what we are and how we choose to live our lives, He loves us. Yet, that does not give us a licence to live in frivolity or lawlessness.
When we understand the concept of love very well, there can never be an abuse of it. In fact, when there is incomplete understanding of love, abuse is inevitable.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).
“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:15).
Hence, we must realise that God has called us into a relationship with Him, Father-Son relationship. He is committed to giving us all things including His Son, and so we also need to show commitment to Him by accepting and living in the reality of His Love by Faith, and not by trying to do religion(being yoke unto the law) so we might earn the love already committed to us.
Welcome to the LOVE, HOPE AND FAITH IN CHRIST. We will be running with this for as long as God gives us grace.
Have a blessed day.
